San Marino, honor to the former Greek Minister of Tourism Theoharis
SAN MARINO (ITALPRESS) – Visit to the Republic of San Marino for Theoharis Theoharis, Greek politician and spokesman in parliament for the New Democracy party. Theoharis held top positions in Greek politics, at the Ministry of Finance, in the field of technologies and public administration until his appointment as Minister of Tourism. In that role Theoharis hosted, last June in Athens, the Assembly of the World Tourism Organization and previously, in preparation for the work of that festival, he received the Secretary of State for Tourism of the Republic of San Marino Federico Pedini Amati for the signing of the memorandum of understanding on tourism between the two states; an agreement that provides for the strengthening of cooperation in the tourism sector, recognizing its strategic importance for both countries and which in particular focuses on institutional cooperation, exchange of information and know-how, promotion and cooperation within international organizations and which is added to those previously signed in financial, cultural and diplomatic matters and further certifies the privileged relationship of the Republic of San Marino with Greece and vice versa.
By virtue of his efforts to improve the relationship between the Republic of San Marino and Greece, in his role as Minister before and as a parliamentarian now, Theoharis was awarded the honor of Knight of the Grand Cross of the Equestrian Order of Sant’Agata at the end of an Audience granted, privately, by their Excellencies Gian Carlo Venturini and Marco Nicolini in the presence of Ambassador Corrado Carattoni. At the end of the audience at Palazzo Pubblico, the former Minister met the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Luca Beccari at Palazzo Begni, a cordial meeting during which relations between the two countries and initiatives to be planned for the future were discussed. . Yesterday, however, a long day of work with the Secretary of State for Tourism Federico Pedini Amati with the aim of organizing the collaboration project launched last spring.
