After a long time, Prague councilors need to start building new flats
Unequivocally still from the first “batch” of projects is the apartment house Vršovická in Prague 10 in the locality of the city stadium Ďolíček. In this case, the metropolis also counts on architectural competition and “harmonization” of construction with the overall modernization of the stadium. At “Bohemka”, the city developer wants to build not a hundred housing units and retail space at an estimated cost of around 680 million crowns. Next week, councilors should dedicate the design of components with approximately 330 flats in Dolní Počernice with an approximate calculation of total costs in the amount of finances and a quarter of a crown. Already approved four smaller projects are located in Prague 5 and 8.
“Progress on them is possible only in cooperation with the given city districts, which are open to new housing construction and to address the burning shortage of affordable housing. I believe that we will soon present other projects, “said Petr Urbánek, director of the city’s contributory organization PDS.
The first hundred flats under its baton should be built in the next election period (in the years 2023 – 6). That is, provided that there are no complications. “The city has enough land for which we can prepare projects from our point of view. Mayor Petr Hlaváček (Joint Forces / TOP 09).
In order for the “municipal” housing stock to grow by 6 to 8 thousand flats over a period of ten to fifteen years, which would mean a double increase compared to the current state (most of the housing stock is in the entrusted property of the city district).
The PDS received over 400,000 square meters of land from the capital, on which, in addition to thousands of municipal flats, the cooperative and so-called federal ones (following the example of the German and Austrian Baugruppe) should also be built. “We will continue to have a political debate on the conditions of individual types of housing and on the financing of financing. We will also address the question of whether these projects will be paid directly from the city budget, or loans will be used, etc., “added Deputy Hlaváček to the topic.
