Victor San Marino away to Fratta Terme on Wednesday • newsrimini.it

The Victor San Marino, after the internal draw against Valsanterno in the Italian championship of Excellence, has already returned to training in view of the second turn of Italian Cup. Up for grabs is the qualification for the third round of the football competition named after the late Maurizio Minetti, former president of the Emilia Romagna Regional Committee who passed away in May 2021.

The next opponent of Mr. D’Amore’s men will be the Fratta Terme, who neglect Gatteo in extra time from the national cup reserved for the Excellence and Promotion teams. The Emilian club also scored a point in the first two days of the Promotion championship (an away defeat against Faenza and a draw at home against Bagnacavallo). Victor San Marino, if he goes on in the Italian Cup, will not be able to afford new drops in concentration after those last Sunday at Acquaviva Stadium and become more cynical in attack.

The match will be held Wednesday 22 September at 8.30 pm at the “Vasco Brusholi” sports center in Fratta Terme (Forlì-Cesena) and will be directed by the referee Matteo Different of the Lugo di Romagna section, supported by the first assistant Federico Ravaioli and the second assistant Simona Cavallari (both of the Ravenna section).

Thomas Rosti, full-back of Victor San Marino, declares: “Having the penalty in the first half of the match against Valsanterno was certainly not the best, but I remained focused until the end, even managing to score my first goal among the greats. I am very happy to have gone online in my country and to be part of the team that not only represents San Marino beyond its national borders but that gives me so many emotions every time I take the field. I want to dedicate this goal to my family because it always follows me and supports me. I am also very happy that the team is still unbeaten this season, although there is some regret because we wanted to take the three points also against Valsanterno. In the second round of the Italian Cup we will certainly play with the desire to win and to move forward in this competition ”.

Tommaso Sapori, attacking midfielder of Victor San Marino, says: “As soon as I landed at Victor San Marino, I settled in immediately and well because I found a really good group: it almost seems that I have been playing all my life with my teammates! Last Sunday we wanted to give continuity to the away win against Alfonsine, but unfortunately we didn’t manage to go beyond the draw against Valsanterno in front of our fans in San Marino. We started badly against the Emilians, but the important thing is to be able to stay focused and not lose the unbeaten run in Excellence. I don’t have any preferences between 4-3-3 and 4-3-1-2, it’s enough for me to play where Coach D’Amore lines up and give my all for the team. We will face Fratta Terme with the double objective of immediately returning to victory and continuing our journey in the Italian Cup ”.

Gianni D’Amore, coach of Victor San Marino, asserts: “It is true that we remained unbeaten in the championship, but objectively we did not play a good match against Valsanterno. We still have to work hard to improve, especially in terms of game continuity: the first half we played male, very male. For the first 25-30 minutes of the game, in fact, we were slow and without ideas. The team actually have ideas and play, but they only showed this in the second half. We have to plug in from 1 ‘, not from the second half. I removed Zabre from the field 10 minutes from the end of the first portion of the game for a technical choice. As for the other players who have not been in the game such as Pedrazzini, Boccioletti and Gaudenzi, on the other hand, I can say that I have a large squad at my disposal for the right spare parts at the right time during the whole season. I am satisfied with the performances of those who have replaced the absent players, it cannot and must not be a request from some player to a match. Furthermore, I have never been worried about our lack of goals on play because the team has always done very well in the attacking phase. The goal can come as easily as it can be late in coming, but I’m calm as long as the team creates chances. Against Fratta Terme we will take the field to win, as always. The starting line-up I will decide after our assessments that we will carry out over the hours on the health conditions of the players ”.
