After several months of work, the Caen ice rink (Calvados) reopens to the general public this Tuesday, September 21, 2021 in the evening (from 9:30 p.m.). It’s time to resume for public sessions, lessons and activities, at the usual times. Major renovations have been carried out, including the reception area. The facade will be completed in the coming weeks.
Evening entertainment
Visitors will be able to rediscover the joys of skiing during the public session from 9:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. “From October to June, the ice rink offers you the opportunity to skate to music and light shows with themed evenings: Halloween, Christmas weekend, foam evenings…”, explains the services of Caen la mer, manager of the rink. All our

Children aged 5 to 15 can come and celebrate their birthday on Wednesday afternoons.

New welcome
The health pass is required for all visitors and practitioners over 18 years old. It will also be requested from over 12 years and 2 months from September 30.
Built in 1971, the ice rink had undergone little work. A first project carried out in 2020 over several months. The track as well as the cover and the boxes had thus been renovated. The objective of the phase which ended was to improve the conditions of reception of users and modernization of the exterior with the repair of the facade, based on contemporary gray stainless steel materials which echo the nearby nautical stadium. The entrance hall, the patinated bank and the cloakrooms are also getting a makeover.
