Antwerp-
In an accident on the Rostockweg in the port of Antwerp, a shed partially collapsed on Tuesday morning. A forklift drove into a support pillar later the roof gave out. The damage to the warehouse is enormous, but miraculously everyone was unharmed.
The incident happened around 7 a.m. in the warehouse of a logistics company where, among other things, steel coils were stored. Several workers were busy with forklifts when one of them collided with a support pillar for an unknown reason.
“A large part of the roof collapsed as a result,” says Kristof Geens of Fire Brigade Zone Antwerp. “The damage to the warehouse of more than 1,000 m² is extensive.” well treated. The driver of the forklift in question was also uninjured, thanks to the cage of his forklift. He is in shock and was taken to hospital for a check-up.
The city engineer, together with a representative of the company, came on site to check the stability of the building. Several vehicles from other companies, which were parked outside the shed, also suffered material damage.
