In the difficult corona time we have discovered how nice it is to be outside. We get to know new people, get to know new people, get to know new people. We want to keep that feeling. That is why there is now an event and a contest.

We give time to freedom and shape the use of space in a new way. The space for own initiative has been established in our city, with its tradition of breeding grounds and pop-up, writes Mayor Halsema in her call to the city to contribute to more space and liveliness.

Do you have an original idea, a feasible experiment, are you incubating an initiative with added value for your street, neighborhood or neighbourhood? Do you already have a place in mind? Then enter the contest. The best idea wins € 5,000 and support in the implementation of the idea.

Event ‘More space and liveliness in the city’

Public space can also be a place where we feel comfortable in a large, busy city. But what is needed, and what can the municipality and Amsterdammers themselves contribute? We cordially invite you to discuss such questions during the ‘More space and vibrancy in the city’ event on Thursday 30 September. Talk to municipal administrators, investors and initiators about the space that belongs to all of us, and that we want to furnish as beautiful and pleasant as possible. We organize this together with The School of Life Amsterdam and Thrive Amsterdam Mental Healthy.
