Underage dealer caught on public transport (Antwerp)
The Antwerp police arrested several dealers last weekend. One of them, a minor, was caught during a public transport check. Vehicles were also seized because their drivers were unable to pay their outstanding fines.
The district team of Merksem and the air ball, together with the district support team (WOT) North, the mobile unit and the dog support service of the federal police, protected a control action on public transport. Eight trips caught in possession of drugs.
“A minor attempt to evade the police by getting out quickly. Police suspected he was on drugs. The check that followed was positive. During a search of his address, the police still 62.48 grams of marijuana, money and a scale. There were three bottles of codein-containing drink in his bedroom,” said the police, who took the minor for questioning.
Confiscated cars
272 of the 1,021 checked were fare dodgers and received an official report for this. One person became administrative about becoming aggressive after a discussion about the mouth mask.
Another minor in a short chase at the WOT South on the Camille Huysmanslaan. “He is like a cannabis seller who had bought a stock from his top dealer,” said the police, who seized 31 grams of cannabis and 11 grams of hashish, among other things. The minor is brought before the juvenile judge.
The Antwerp police also seized vehicles last weekend in a naval action involving customs, the drug police and the KALI team. “The drivers are standing for almost 70,000 euros in outstanding fines and were unable to pay that immediately. One of the outstanding fines yielded more than 30,000 euros,” the police said.
