Toulouse: thieves from Spain specializing in cell phones
In 48 hours, the police arrested people suspected of stealing cell phones in series each time in a fashionable establishment in the Cépière district of Toulouse.
Friday evening, victims and the establishment’s security team sounded the alert. A group of girls and boys were suspected of stealing phones either from bags or by pushing their victims on the dance floor. Police officers from the Left Bank anti-crime squad discovered six phones hidden in the toilets. Six suspects, all domiciled in Spain and originally from Colombia were arrested. A 32-year-old woman and a 35-year-old man, formally defined by the investigations, were presented to the prosecution on Sunday and should be tried tomorrow Tuesday before the Toulouse Criminal Court.
And Saturday evening, new alert with five people, also domiciled in Spain and from Colombia who looted customers of the same establishment. After a quick surveillance, the police officers of the anti-crime brigade intercepted four people who were about to leave by car. A fifth suspect was also arrested. In the vehicle of the suspects, the police discovered thirteen cell phones and collected … ten complaints from customers. The five people arrested, aged 24 to 34, were taken into police custody. Their hearings will continue this Monday morning at the Tournefeuille police station.
