Net Zero means the reduction of the climate impact from clear, science-based goals and with compensation exclusively within the own value chain, for example by planting trees on and around coffee farms.
Austria as a pioneer and one of the first countries to offer CO2-neutral coffee enjoyment
Austria is one of the first countries worldwide in which Nespresso makes the enjoyment of every cup of coffee CO2-neutral – together with the USA, France, Australia and New Zealand. The other countries will follow step by step until 2022. The ambition to play a leading role in shaping the transition to sustainable agriculture in the coffee industry has arisen Nespresso Beyond CO2 neutrality, we are obliged to achieve net zero.
Until that goal is achieved, invest Nespresso to compensate for remaining CO2 emissions in a total of eleven environmental protection projects by certified partners such as South Pole, PUR Projet and PACHAMA. As part of these projects – such as “Mai-Ndombe” in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and “Jubilación Segura” in Peru – carries Nespresso contributes to the preservation and protection of the natural landscape, promotes the use of clean energy and the promotion of forests and supports the local population in improving their quality of life.
