Prague: The U Apoline maternity hospital building has been completely renovated for billions
Just as VFN is a key hospital of the Czech healthcare system, its gynecological and obstetric clinic has always been one of the most famous to work not only in our country, but also in Europe. However, the historic building and the environment of the clinic are at the top of this facility, but they want to meet the necessary days of medicine. During the hundred-hundred-year history, history has not undergone a complete renewal. It always responded to the new trend only with small internal dispositions of rights and long-term modernization of technology. I am therefore happy that the building of the dock deserves modernization, said Health Minister Adam Vojtch.
The Ministry of Health has granted the hospital registration for the so-called pre-project phase, which will carry out the necessary research and geodetic surveys. The construction program, the architectural competition and the selection of the drafter of the documentation projects will follow. The construction work itself should start in 2025. The complete system of repairs and implementation of constructions will be cooperation with experts on the monumental monument and the preservation of the local loci of the site. In addition, the reconstruction is carried out during full operation of clinics with minimal restrictions. That is why we are carrying out the construction of a new pavilion on another border of the plot, where we will be able to gradually move individual work and operations. I am glad that we have such support from the founder and that our gynecological and obstetric clinic will move longer, ekl editel VFN prof. MUDr. David Feltl, Ph.D., MBA and added:
Now let’s move to the last phase the project of building old maternity wards and one operating room in a modern space. The project is finished and we will soon start the reconstruction itself. The large-scale construction will now have a clear outline.
As part of a comprehensive renovation of the clinic, the entire building will be technically repaired inside and outside. The roof, masses and facades of lime bricks are now in unsatisfactory condition. It is necessary to build a new area for patients and staff, rooms for the family home or a complete modern bathroom. The project also includes the reconstruction of existing maternity wards, where after the modernization only the operatives will remain for the most recent cases and a new postoperative ward (ICU) for mothers. Originally unsuitable maternity wards will be moved to modern maternity rooms with soundproof walls and the necessary land for mothers and their companions.
There will be six maternity wards in the existing buildings, and the construction of a new neonatology pavilion, which is a significant element of general reconstruction, will offer another forty rooms. The neonatology clinic ensures complete care for newborns and is a superconciliation center for immature individuals, especially in the most suitable categories. It provided its capacity and scope to one of the largest in all. The treatment of immature children often takes months and requires the presence of the parent. The construction of a new pavilion is therefore very vtm. This will create intensive and resuscitating family units, the so-called NICU family, which are completely common in the developed world. Thanks to modern nursing, which includes both mother and father, the prognosis of immature children is not only demonstrably improving, but family relationships are also strengthened, explained by prof. MUDr. Antonn Pazek, CSc., Head of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, General Hospital and First Medical Faculty, Charles University.
As part of the celebrations of the 190th birth of the Czech architect, builder and swordsman Josef Hlvka, Prime Minister Andrej Babi, together with the Minister of Health Adam Vojtech, presented it. In this case, the director of the General University Hospital, David Feltl, will premiere and present all communications about the completed project to reconstruct the gynecology and obstetrics clinic and the construction of the neonatology center. This material was previously sent to the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic and the preparatory work on the project continues according to end of the head of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the General Hospital and the 1st Medical Faculty of Charles University prof. MUDr. Alois Martan, DrSc.
The general reconstruction and construction of the new pavilion should be completed in 2030. The state will pay more than 4.5 production crowns for it.
