MotoGp San Marino, Ducati double in qualifying: Bagnaia and Miller ahead of Quartararo
Francesco ‘Pecco’ Bagnaia hits pole position in the San Marino GP in the MotoGp class. On the Misano circuit, the Turinese, riding the Official Ducati, turn in 1’31 ″ 065 and precedes his teammate, the Australian Jack Miller (1’31 ″ 314) and the leader of the world championship, the French Fabio Quartararo (1’31 ″ 367) with the Yamaha.
Unlucky the Frenchman who slips during the last attempt to catch up with the best time. Bagnaia, on the second consecutive pole, also signs the new track record. In the second row the Ducatis of Jorge Martin and Johann Zarco (Pramac Racing), sixth and seventh times for the Hondas of Pol Espargaro and Marc Marquez.
Completing the top ten are Aleix Espargaro (Aprilia), Alex Rins (Suzuki) and Maverick Vinales (Aprilia). Joan Mir (Suzuki) was eleventh ahead of Enea Bastianini’s Ducati (Avintia Esponsorama). Evil Valentino Rossi who will start penultimate (ahead of Dovizioso) and in the umpteenth bad day he consoles himself only with the celebratory helmet – a Misano classic – dedicated to the future birth of his daughter.
