Vaucluse. Avignon in 40th place of cities where it is good to study

AVIGNON. In the 15e edition of the national ranking of student cities released by L’Étudiant on September 14, Avignon occupies the 40e place of the general classification and the 12e place in the ranking of medium-sized cities (from 8,000 to 20,000 students), ahead of Perpignan and after Troyes.

Forty-three university cities * were scrutinized by L’Étudiant: studies, sports, outings, culture, transport… to find out which city has the best quality of life for studying. In 2021, Toulouse, n ° 1 for two years, retains the first place ahead of Lyon and Rennes who share the second step of the podium.

Poitiers and Pau are respectively at the top of the rankings of large cities (from 20,000 to 40,000 students) and medium-sized cities. The Aix-Marseille academy is positioned at the 10e place of the general classification. In detail, according to the five criteria selected according to 16 ranking indicators, Avignon is at the 41e place for attractiveness, 39e place for training, 24e room for the living environment, 36e place for student life and 27e for the job.

For the first time this year, many new informative criteria have been taken into consideration, and in particular those related to the environment, such as the number of kilometers of cycle paths in the urban area or the use or not of phytosanitary products. in municipal gardens, in addition to other non-ranking criteria such as transport prices, the number of cinemas in the city, etc. which may be of interest to future students looking for THE ideal student city.
