Mückstein reveals what is in store for Austria now – politics
Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens) is pleased that the number of first stitches with the corona vaccination is increasing again.
Specifically, on Tuesday 9,986 people in Austria decided to have a vaccination and a further 8,418 people got the second bite and thus complete protection against the highly contagious Delta variant. That is more than twice as many people who want to be vaccinated as on Monday (4,347 first stitches and 4,356 full immunizations). Overall, there has been an increase in the number of first stitches since the beginning of school.
“This is an extremely positive development. I am about the fact that after the vaccination offers of the federal states are now being strongly accepted again. He expects a further positive development with the first stings through low-threshold vaccination offers in schools and universities.
Vaccination rate among boys is increasing
In fact, the vaccination rate among adolescents shows an increase: As of September 15, 31.6 percent of 12 to 15-year-olds are partially immunized and 24.9 percent have full protection. In the 16 to 20 year old age group, 57.6 percent are partially immunized and 51.4 percent are fully immunized.
“We know that uncomplicated, creative and swift vaccination campaigns have a great effect on the willingness to vaccinate. Vaccination offers in schools and universities”, said Mückstein.
“Now comes the final spurt”
And further: “Now the previous final spurt. The vaccination rate has to be increased further in order to get through the autumn and winter safely.”
