Will Prague 11 have a glass town hall building? On the table is her new look Company News Pražská Drbna
The new building of the City Hall of Prague 11 could be glazed and its floor plan would resemble an open book. The building, which is planned near the Háje metro station, was designed by the KAAMA architectural studio. In a study from 2020, the architects estimated the construction of the new town hall at 482.2 million crowns without VAT. Fill it in from the documents provided to ČTK by Anna Kočicová, a spokeswoman for the eleventh city district.
“The town hall of our city district has been operating for a long time in unsatisfactory duties, both in terms of their quality and size. The fragmentation of the town hall agenda into several buildings then has a logical effect on the comfort of the inhabitants of Prague 11, who have to deal with their affairs at various addresses. Also, the limited capacity of the space reserved for meetings of commissions, committees or city councils now does not allow sufficient public participation, “He stated the reasons for the construction of the new town hall of the Deputy Mayor of Prague 11 Martin Sedeke (ODS).
The building should have six floors
The new town hall is designed on a plot of land between Opatovská, Bajkonurská and Tatarkova streets. According to an architectural study, the building should have six floors. The two underground floors should have archives, technical facilities of buildings and garages with 190 parking spaces. In addition to the office and space with partitions, the four above-ground floors also include an entrance hall, a reception with an information center in the city district, a bistro or a hall for up to 220 spectators. According to the architects’ design, the partially glazed building should have a walkable roof with greenery on it.
The office of the eleventh city district has its workplaces in four places. It is located in buildings in Ocelíkova, Roztylská, Vidimova and Jurkovičova streets. According to the deputy mayor, there is now no money left in Prague 11 for the construction of a new building that would provide premises for all departments of the office. Financing options are currently being verified, they added. In 2020, it was estimated that the town hall could cost about 482.2 million crowns. This year, however, the prices of building materials and construction work must increase.
The eleventh part of the city is also missing around 100 million crowns for the planned modifications of the former Sandra hostel, said Deputy Mayor Ondřej Prokop (YES) earlier. The building near the Opatov Prague 11 metro station is now being reconstructed with the aim of creating 174 new flats, office space, a hall for cultural events and meetings of the council and a restaurant in a panel house. Jižní Město would also have to see the reconstruction and extension of the Home for the Elderly (DPS) and the Jižní Město Relief Center with an estimated cost of 117 million crowns and a footbridge over the four-lane road in Opatovská Street. The new footbridge should connect the terrace at the Opatovská shopping center and the Opatov Cultural House with the local polyclinic.
The South City is ruled by a coalition of Pirates, YES, ODS, TOP 09 and STAN. The city part, where 77,600 inhabitants live, includes the cadastral territory of Chodov and Háje.
