It is already becoming a real tradition. Together with Vrijwilligers Centrale Amsterdam, the Zuid district is organizing a special thanksgiving day for volunteers from Zuid for the eleventh time. We support all volunteers for all the work they do selflessly. Especially in corona time, the commitment of volunteers is of great value.
Fortunately, this year we managed to find this unique event again, albeit in a modified form because of corona. No large groups together and not everything at once, but more spread out and more possibilities. Because it was canceled last year due to corona, this year it is not one, but two days. This way we make up for the damage a bit. The event will take place on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 September.
Saturday 25 September you can participate in the following activities:
- Acoustic mini concert in the choir hall of the Concertgebouw
- Ride on the Museum tram line with live music
- To the movies in Rialto
- Sniffing art in Art South
- Sound walks through the neighborhood with CC Amstel
- Lecture by Herman Pleij and Circl about the history of tolerance and volunteering in Amsterdam
On Sunday 26 September there will be an online pub quiz from 11.30 am to 1.30 pm led by Devrim Aslann, one of the Champions from the ‘Beat the Champions’ program. We also look back on all the activities of Saturday. Atta de Tolk gives a ‘spoken word’ lecture. Flora Breemer (member of the executive board of the South District) will also have a say.
Are you a volunteer and want to be there? You can register on the website of the Volunteer Central Amsterdam. There you will also find more information about the program.
