Great participation in this year’s Athens Pride
The Athens Pride took place last Saturday in Athens with success and great participation, with the central slogan “What unites us”.
Adapted to the conditions of the pandemic, as reported by the organizers, there was only a parade of pride, without concerts and without the operation of kiosks.
The march started from Klafthmonos Square shortly after 7 in the afternoon and occupied the Parliament.
Thousands of people of all ages attended the Parade, walked, danced and demonstrated in favor of equality, while some held banners in memory of Zak Costopoulos.
SYRIZA and KINAL actively participated in this year’s Pride Parade. Among others, MP Costas Zachariadis, Rena Dourou, the party’s Spokesperson Nassos Iliopoulos, the head of the Department of Justice and Human Rights, Irini Agathopoulou and the former MP Anneta Kavvadia were present during the march.
From the Movement for Change were present the party secretary Manolis Christodoulakis, the Communication secretary Panagiotis Vlachos, the deputy Spokesperson, Zefi Dimadama, the Representative of the Central Committee, Spyros Karanikolas, Pavlos Geroulanos. The KINAL youth also participated.
MERA25 was also represented. “We welcome the Athens Pride. We will be by the side of every struggle for the recognition of the rights of LGBTQI individuals and against any policy that violates self-evident rights “, said the announcement of the faction.
