September 14, Minsk / Corr. BELTA /. Belarus intends to work progressively to put a barrier to the illegal use of sanctions and other facts of violations of international law. Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Belarus Vadim Grachev told journalists today at the international conference “The Impact of Global Economic Rights on Social and Labor Rights”, which takes place in Minsk on September 13-14, BelTA has learned.
The main topic of the forum was the impact of unlawful unilateral sanctions on the economy of Belarus and the lives of ordinary people. Leading experts in the field of international law, representatives of the government, the courts, academia, deputies, political scientists, ambassadors of foreign states, among international trade union associations and those represented by those enterprises that are subject to sanctions – a total of about 400 people from 15 countries together form a consolidated group.
“We set the task of preparing a conclusion based on the results of the discussions, in which we were going to point out in legal language to our opponents that they were wrong, that they violated the norms and rules of international law. paragraphs – starting with the Charter and the UN and ending with the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. “
He listed the essence of the claims being made: Western countries, according to the participants in the conference, have usurped international law and apply sanctions whenever they want, for the sake of their political desires and convictions. “They are thus replacing the UN Security Council: only it can apply any sanctions and only on condition of one thing – in the event of a threat to global peace,” added Vadim Grachev.

In conclusion, Vadim Grachev noted that Western politicians “still have time to stop, examine and make several important decisions: lift the sanctions, apologize to Belarus and the Belarusian people, and compensate for the damage.” He drew attention to the fact that the sanctions are also imposed on the citizens of those countries.
