A 10-year-old child was the victim of a serious accident on a skate-park in Annecy (Haute-Savoie), late Sunday afternoon. According to The Dauphiné Libéré, he was hit head-on by an adult on a skateboard and fell heavily on the concrete. The incident is said to have happened at the top of the track, where the practitioners are gaining momentum. The young boy was riding a scooter and was not wearing a helmet, according to witnesses to the scene. His head hit the ground at the time of the fall.
Transferred in a state of absolute emergency
“The skater was sorry, they took an opposite run and did not see each other, there were a lot of people on the skate-park”, confides to our colleagues a person present during the accident. The child was taken care of by the emergency services and then taken in a state of absolute emergency to the cantonal hospital of Geneva. He is still in intensive care Monday evening.
The collision between the skater and the little boy took place right after the end of a skateboard competition. “The enclosure barriers had been removed. The young practitioners present in large numbers around had taken back possession of their usual playground, ”explained the organizer Sebastiano Bartoloni, while refusing“ any amalgamation ”between the event and the fall of the child. The man deplores “a very unfortunate accident”.
