The popular Lhotka biotope swimming pool had to end the season prematurely. After a not very released season, which was complicated mainly by covid, the operator, ie Prague 4, has to count further losses. In one of the pools, the foil covering its bottom was damaged. The city district therefore complained about this defect to the manufacturer.
“Last week, we complained about the defect to the film supplier. Complaints supplier recognizeduntil next season, everything will be fine and repaired, “said Filip Vácha (TOP 09) of the city council for investment. According to the councilor, however, it will not stay only with the exchange of foils. “For next season, we want to partially renovate the area and improve services for visitors. There are new refreshment stalls, a children’s playground and two multi-purpose sports fields“The councilor added. It is expected to invest around ten million.
10 million to the technical background
But the technology will also be repaired. Lhotka swimming pool is a biotope, which means that the water is filtered by natural organisms and not by chemistry. However, this brings with it a number of complications that need to be covered, the water would still be of good quality. Biological water treatment produces sludge that needs to be filtered. “We had a special technology designed that will automatically filter the sludge from next season. So far, it must be a technical worker. But we knew that this was only a temporary solution, “said Vácha
During the autumn, other wells will also be dug to supply the swimming pool with water. During the hot summer months, the swimming pool sometimes has a problem that the current wells are not enough and the swimming pool must be filled with drinking tap water..
“Although it does not reduce the quality of water in any way, this procedure is completely against the principle of a biotope swimming pool. In addition, drinking water is many times more expensive and should be used minimally for such things, ”Vácha results. Newly dug wells should already have coverageAccording to the councilor, the investment in the reconstruction of the equipment is about 10 million crowns, ie roughly the same amount as for the construction of playgrounds.
