The agenda of EuroMed7 talks
The agenda of the talks will include issues of the Eastern Mediterranean, the climate crisis, civil protection and developments in Afghanistan.
In the press conference at the TIF, the Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, answering a relevant question for the EuroMed7 Summit, said that “every year the leaders of the seven most Mediterranean countries are in a different country, we expand the composition. We also included Croatia and Slovenia as Mediterranean countries. Croatia appears in the Adriatic. Slovenia with a smaller coast, but is typically considered a Mediterranean country. So we will be here with nine heads of state and government to discuss current issues concerning the Mediterranean and geopolitical issues. As we did last year, I want to remind you when we were in Corsica. But also in an extraordinary Summit we are doing on the challenges of climate change and how we can work together better to tackle them. I would say that it is a continuation of the debate that took place in Marseille on the protection of biodiversity and the debate that has already developed on the possibility and the need for better cooperation in the field of civil protection, especially in the field of fire. So, we will have a very rich agenda. It happens to be our turn to organize this debate this year. “And of course these meetings always give us the opportunity to better align themselves with the European policies they can pursue.”
