The agreements between the Russian Federation and Belarus on information security are very important – Rossiyskaya Gazeta
Harmonization of the approach to ensuring information security in the financial sector, which allows Russia and Belarus to come to an agreement, is a task aimed at ensuring high-quality and holistic interaction in the transfer of information. Artem Kalashnikov, director of financial sector development at Digital Security, specializing in cybersecurity, told Rossiyskaya Gazeta. Advisor-head of the Gazinformservice certification center, who is also in information security, Sergei Kiryushkin points out that countries are already using this area in other approaches.
According to Kalashnikov, the important thing in the agreements is that the regulatory framework will be harmonized, which means that measures and decisions in the field of information security will be similar in approaches. Expert assessment. Improving the quality of service in this area.
“All agreements are of very important practical importance for the implementation of a single space of trust, documents in electronic form,” approved Kiryushkin. However, they cannot be called equivalent.
The convergence of these approaches and the beginning of the application of the mechanisms of mutual trust proposed by the two countries is a big step towards resolving this issue, the expert said. For example, on the EU market since at least 1999 there have been pan-European regulations in this area, which are equally applied by all EU countries.
On September 10, Russia and Belarus agreed to harmonize approaches to information security in the financial sector, create a mechanism for mutual recognition of audits in the field, as well as use means of cross-border integrity control and confirmation of authenticity in the exchange of electronic information. This decision was made by the Council of the Union State Council in Minsk. This measure is included in 28 Union programs aimed at fulfilling large-scale tasks to strengthen Russian-Belarusian integration and approved by the Council on Friday.
