Prague 6 repaired the house on Hradčanská, the work took a year and a half

The selection of the restaurant operator was approved by the city council on Monday, the Matuška family brewery, which won the tender. From the beginning, the town hall expects to have a gastronomy on the ground floor.

The property is located at the intersection of Dejvická and Bubenečská streets, in an attractive location right next to the Hradčanská metro station. “The new tenant offered the highest price, which was the only significant rating. At the same time, it is an interesting concept of the restaurant, which is not new in Prague 6, but it will definitely bring an expansion of the existing offer of gastronomic services in this locality. The rent will add over two million crowns a year to the city treasury, “said Jan Lacina, Deputy Mayor of Prague 6, who is in charge of property.

At the same time, the tenant undertook to adjust the premises so that it operated according to its own idea of costs. “The preparation facilities and the premises for the employees are completely completed, except for the supply of food preparation technologies. Premises intended for customers who are already renting design adapted to their taste, “comments Zdeněk Hořánek (STAN), Councilor of Prague 6 for Investments and the only member of the Board of Directors of SNEO, which manages the assets.

According to the contract, the brewery restaurant was to open within a year. “We will definitely have to make some adjustments, I do not dare to estimate when they will be finished, we would like to open earlier sooner,” said Adam Matuška, chief brewer and co-owner of the brewery. “We would like to have quality and fast food with our beer, goulash and sirloin, which are waiting at the table, will not be served. Food delivery should be almost as fast as beer, “said Matuška.

The restaurant will be run together with chefs Petr Tyrichter and Bohumil Spěvák, who are co-owners of an established bistro in Karlín, Prague. The capacity should be up to a hundred seats.

Long reconstruction

After many years, the house was in a state of disrepair, the repair was one year, but the work took a year and a half due to a statically unsatisfactory structure, which had to be replaced, a new layout of the building was created. “The course of the reconstruction was also affected by the coronavirus situation, which caused a lack of qualified labor and delays in the supply of materials,” explained Jiří Hannich, a spokesman for the city district, adding that the work requires 108 million crowns and should have a return within 20 years.

The external appearance of the house has been preserved. On the 2nd and 3rd floors there are already completed offices for rent. There are eight municipal flats on the remaining floors, on the basis of which the lease of the town hall will announce a tender for rental housing within two months. The city district also intends to rent office space.
