Annecy: three good reasons to attend the departmental firefighters congress
SSaturday September 11 will take place in Annecy-Meythet, at the headquarters of Sdis de Haute-Savoie, the 74th congress of firefighters. This meeting is an opportunity to bring together all the firefighters (professionals and volunteers) of the department as well as the administrative, technical and specialized staff during a moment of cohesion and conviviality. It is also a privileged moment to meet the public. The proof by three.
1. Attend a medal ceremony
A ceremony open to the public will take place at 11 a.m. During this event, around twenty firefighters will receive a medal rewarding their exceptional commitment. The pennant of the Departmental Union of Firefighters will also be transmitted from the main rescue center of Thonon, which hosted the congress in 2019, to the friendly management. The speeches of Commander Franck Hamoneau, president of UDSP74, Pascal Lorteau, departmental director of Sdis, Martial Saddier, president of the departmental council and Alain Espinasse, prefect of Haute-Savoie will follow.
2. Discover the vehicles
From the end of the morning, many stands will also be open to the public (mountain rescue, dog teams, aquatic group, volunteering, young firefighters, SAMU, road safety, etc.) and old and current vehicles will be on display. The civil security helicopter, the Dragon74, will be present (except for operational necessity).
3. Participate in demonstrations
At 12 p.m. and 3 p.m., the public will be able to attend a demonstration of a horse-drawn ladder dating from 1906. From 2 p.m., many activities will await the public (road rescue maneuver, introduction to first aid, children’s course, zip line, initiation diving, etc.). Visits to the call processing and regulation center will also be organized from 1:30 p.m. (registration on site).
Entrance and all activities are free. However, due to the health context, the health pass will be requested for access to the site.
