Neighborhood budget South 2021 has started. Residents of Oud-Zuid, De Pijp, Rivierenbuurt and Buitenveldert, Zuidas can submit plans throughout September that will make their neighborhood more beautiful, more fun and/or more liveable. Also can gladly be specified to the mentioned plans. Residents will decide later this year whether plans will be implemented.
Plans can be submitted in September, plans can be submitted up to and including Sunday 10 October. By reserving a few extra days for likes, residents who submit their plan at the end of September still have a chance to receive enough likes. The plans with at least 75 likes through to the second round. Plan submitters are themselves for realizing enough likes.
This month, the Zuid district is holding various meetings in the areas where interested parties can meet and ask about the neighborhood budget. The dates and times of these meetings can be found on the page Neighborhood budget South 2021. All information is also available in English.
75 likes are planned by the district on feasibility. The criteria for this can be found on the website. All feasible plans then come back online. In December, the residents of the three areas will receive a tribal code with which they can vote for the plans in their area. In this way they decide for themselves which plans are carried out.
24 plans executed
Last year the 3 areas 257 plans in. Ultimately, more than 16,000 residents in the areas took part in the final of Buurtbudget Zuid 2020. Together they coordinated a plan 74,466 times. The result of the voting round has actually been implemented in the 24 plans.
“We have learned a lot from the experiences and the extensive evaluation of Buurtbudget Zuid in 2020. We want to help residents even more with the submission of plans,” said Skadi Renooij, the project leader of Buurtbudget Zuid. “Last year we had a lot of plans and a lot of residents who tuned in to the plans. Hopefully we will also get the neighborhoods moving with the neighborhood budgets this year.”
And: “We encourage residents to submit plans together with other local residents. There is then more support for a plan and it is to have achieved enough likes together. And if there are any questions, the plan applicants can always contact us.”
This year, the Zuid district is making a budget of €465,000 available for the three areas. Each area will receive €155,000. Two neighborhoods have also been designated, each with a budget of €100,000. These are the Rijnbuurt-West (in De Pijp, Rivierenbuurt) and Buitenveldert-East (in Buitenveldert, Zuidas).
The same rules apply to Neighborhood Budget South 2021 in the 3 countries. Separate routes are being set up in the (smaller) neighbourhoods. All information about submitting plans and the rules of the game can be found at: www.amsterdam.nl/buurtbudgetzuid
