Prague Airport will strengthen its arrival check for coronavirus, and its staff will now have a new check
The new check-in model will take effect tomorrow, the checks will be comprehensive upon arrival.
Passengers who landed at Prague Airport must expect greater control over compliance with the conditions of entry into the Czech Republic. The reason is the increasing traffic at the airport.
Prague Airport has agreed on new protective measures with the Aliens Police and the General Administration. From tomorrow, the procedure for check-in after arrival will change. So far, only the police have checked the passengers after their arrival, and employees of Prague Airport and the customs administration can now also. Thanks to this power new measure of the Ministry of Health. The checks should be general, not random, they will take place before the passport control, on T2 at the counters set up during the pandemic.
The airport recommends that all passengers always find out all the rules in advance. Even before leaving their destination for Prague, they should have prepared and ideally printed all the necessary documents, the received form and a certificate of infectivity, if they need it from the country.
“We coordinate the new model with representatives of the Ministry of Health and other security forces operating at the airport. We are also strengthening our staff capacity and equipment in order to speed up the entire check-in process on arrivals. Passengers can also speed up checks on arrival in the Czech Republic themselves, provided they have pre-established current conditions and all documents ready, “ said Jiří Kraus, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of Prague Airport.
The new protective measure will allow other people to come to the Czech Republic as a tourist. However, they must have completed vaccination against covid-19, which has been approved by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) and travels from countries whose certificates are recognized. According to the forecast, it is expected that the interest in traveling to Prague will increase.
Upon arrival in the Czech Republic, it is checked whether the passengers have, in accordance with the valid protection measure completed in particular form received, a certificate of completed vaccination or proof of past disease in the last 180 days. According to the rules, passengers can also submit a confirmation of a negative test for covid-19. However, the specific assessment of the situation will always depend on the passengers and destinations that arrive.
Passengers can find an overview of the currently valid conditions for arriving in the Czech Republic on the website of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic. Specific rules are governed by the list of countries according to the degree of risk, which is regularly updated on the website of the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic. In all airport services, passengers are required to wear FFP2 respirators or their alternatives and to maintain clearances.
