The economy of Prague ended in the first half of the year with a ten billion surplus
Revenues amounted to CZK 51.79 million and expenditures to about CZK 42.4 million. So far, the city has spent about CZK 4.76 million on investments. Fill it out of the economic result as of June 30, 2021, which was approved by Prague councilors on Monday.
The city spends the most money on tax revenues, and up to 31.87 billion crowns. The second highest amount is still on the so-called transfers, which include money from the state budget.
Prague thus received over 18 billion crowns. Other Prague money earned on non-tax or capital income.
On the expenditure side, the largest item was current expenditure, which amounted to CZK 37.64 million. The capital spent the most money on education and sports, about 12.9 million CZK.
The second most expensive budget chapter was transport with about CZK 12.3 million. Compared to the amount originally planned in the budget, the most money went to health care and social care.
In the first half of the year, the city invested the mentioned about 4.76 billion crowns. This represents 19.74 percent of the amount of the so-called adjusted budget.
During the year, Prague adjusts the budget according to the current development of the economy. Originally, an amount of CZK 19.42 billion was approved for investments in the budget, which was increased to about CZK 24 billion.
According to the document, low utilization is caused by permitting and planning processes or seasonality of work. According to Vyhnánek, the amount invested will increase in the coming months. Most of the money was invested in transport.
At the end of last year, the representatives of the capital approved the budget of the capital as a whole with revenues of 79.1 million and expenditures of 89.15 billion crowns.
During this year, revenues were increased to approximately 86.24 billion and expenditures of 101.62 billion as of June 30. The difference will cover Prague, among other things, from money from the state.
