Belarus handed over to Russia accused of financing terrorism
The supervisory authorities of Belarus have satisfied the request to use the Russian prosecutor’s office to extradite a man born in 1990 to prosecute for the financing of terrorism, informs international legal department of the republican prosecutor’s office.
This decision, the lawyers explained, was made on the basis of the Convention of the CIS Member States on Legal Assistance and Legal Relations in Civil, Family and Criminal Cases of January 22, 1993.
From the case materials, investigated the RF IC under the Dagestan program, the previously accused earlier in Khasavyurt in September 2018 in Khasavyurt transferred money to his friend, which was supposed to be transferred to the international terrorist organization “Islamic State” (banned in Russia) for the acquisition of weapons and uniforms. The accused fled from criminal prosecution on the territory of the Russian Federation.
Employees of the Gomel ROVD detained the man on the territory of the republic, and the district prosecutor’s office applied a preventive measure to him in the form of detention.
After the entry into force of the decision of the Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Belarus to extradite the accused, he was handed over to representatives of the law enforcement agencies of the Union State.
