Due to the derailment of two freight train cars in Nelahozeves in the Mělník region, traffic on the busy railway line from Ústí nad Labem to Prague was interrupted on Thursday morning. The trains did not run for about three hours in the section between the Kralupy nad Vltavou and Vraňany stations, after 8.00 the operation was resumed on one of the two tracks.

No one was injured, the amount of damage has not yet been determined, the cause will be specified by the Railway Inspectorate after the completion of the investigation, said Nela Friebová, a spokeswoman for the Railway Administration.
At the entrance to the Nelahozeves station, the cars derailed shortly after 5:00, the operation of long-distance and regional trains was stopped.
Now the operation is partially restored and according to the web Czech Railways runs in parallel with the train and shuttle alternative bus service. International trains will return on the first track where traffic is resumed. But passengers should still count on delays.
An accident investigation is now underway on the second track. “Subsequently, the consequences of the accident will be removed, as well as the repair of damaged concrete sleepers and lights,” says Friebová.
A spokesman for the Railway Inspectorate said that the last two cars of the freight train derailed while driving. Material damage has not yet been quantified.
