Qatar Airways has started sending a smaller plane to Prague, the dreamliner will not return until September
The carrier did not explain the change in the type of aircraft, the capacity will be reduced by 100 seats on each flight.
Qatar Airways will start deploying a temporarily smaller aircraft on the procedures between Prague and Doha. From today until the end of September, the Airbus A320 will fly instead of the Boeing 787-8.
The change results from the reservation system, which is also confirmed by the spokesperson of Prague Airport Kateřina Pavlíková. “However, the type of aircraft may change operationally at any time. “ said Pavlíková. The airline did not comment on the reasons for the change of aircraft type.
This will significantly reduce capacity, but this is clearly sufficient for long-distance routes in the current situation. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner flies at Qatar Airways in a configuration for 244 passengers, the A320 in two versions: for 132 and 144 passengers. It is a type of aircraft with which the carrier started in Prague four years ago. Currently, the carrier flies in Prague four times a week: on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
The change of type may be a recent step by the Qatari Civil Aviation Authority, which grounded several Airbus A350 carriers due to alleged fuselage races. The carrier must replace this aircraft in service with others, including dreamliners.
