Strasbourg deploys interoperable NFC ticketing for all Android devices • NFCW
Owners of Android NFC smartphones can now purchase, store and validate digital tickets and monthly or annual subscriptions for buses, trams and other public transport services in the French city of Strasbourg on their mobile device.
Transit operator Strasbourg Transport Company (CTS) has deployed an interoperable mobile ticketing service across all of its transit networks, including regional rail services, which also allows passengers with Android NFC devices to purchase tickets on networks with compatible systems. in other cities.
The service is the first to use the interoperable HCE Calypso (HCIA) application – a solution developed by the Association of Calypso Networks (CNA) – which uses Host Card Emulation (HCE) technology to secure transactions, and Hoplink platform to enable interoperability with other Calypso-based ticketing systems.
“The solution enables transportation operators and authorities to deliver Calypso tickets using HCE technology on Android devices while maintaining robust Calypso security standards,” explains the CNA.
“The ticketing app also has the potential to work seamlessly on other Calypso systems around the world, with Calypso’s Hoplink app allowing customers to purchase and hold tickets for other city networks using the service, via their Android device. “
