Prague – The glorchestra project today at the Prague Exhibition Grounds offered a combination of classical orchestra and modern music, complemented by scenography and a light show. According to the organizers, the original hour-long show, framed by production DJs, was visited by approximately 2,000 people. Today’s show, created by combining a live orchestra and genres from alternative electronic music, RnB, pop to hip hop and dance music in front of a packed auditorium introduced by the instrumental music of the Unique Orchestra. Each glorchestra concert is accompanied by a set design by the artistic director of the Cais project. “I liked the idea of underlining a certain duality that both completely different worlds bring. In this case, the stage is a meeting place where they are to connect non-violently with ease and with a certain naturalness, to which we subject design and scenography. I also consider the fact that everyone The event will take place in an interesting historical place with a strong genius loci. The decorations will always be sensitively designed and installed in the context of individual locations, emphasizing their uniqueness, so it will not be a classic moving circus.
Glorchestra will perform in six places in the Czech Republic. The next concert will take place on August 4 at the Zbiroh chateau, then at the Slavkov chateau, the Sychrov chateau or the Kuks Hospital. The last concert will take place in the Lower Vítkovice area on September 22. In addition to the live Unique orchestra, the well-known names of the Czech music scene will perform at each concert, which will become part of the Break Binary concept. It represents a combination of two seemingly unrelated contrasting elements.
“Our plan is to make a tasteful combination of alternative electronics, pop, RnB, rap and dance music, and the connecting material is the broad instrumentation of the large orchestra,” said Radimo, the music director of the project.
The aim of the glorchestra project is to support the restoration of historical sites in the Czech Republic. The concerts also include the possibility of visiting monuments. Proceeds from the entrance fee will be donated to their repair. The organizers said that thanks to today’s concert, they received 330,000 crowns.
