Sweden opens its borders to Ukrainians
Ukrainian citizens have been allowed to enter Sweden since July 26, according to a statement posted on the Swedish government’s website.
“The government decided on July 22 that residents of Ukraine will be exempted from the entry ban.” statement sa.
The Swedish government added that the decision will enter into force on July 26, 2021.
According to the website of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, foreign nationals who are exempt from the entry ban to Sweden must present a negative covid-19 test or a vaccination certificate (COVID certificate) when entering the country.
At present, Sweden only recognizes vaccination certificates issued in the EU / EEA countries or in Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, Switzerland or the Vatican.
Entry into Sweden will be allowed for people who have received a second dose of a covid-19 vaccine more than 14 days before arrival.
The list of vaccines approved by Sweden includes Comirnaty (BioNtech Tozinameran), Spikevax (Moderna), Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca), Janssen, AstraZeneca / SKBio, Covishield (Serum Institute of India), BIBP / Sinopharm and CoronaVac.
On 15 July, the Council of the European Union added Ukraine to the list of countries for which coronavirus-related travel restrictions for unnecessary travel to the EU should be lifted.
