Prague will increase the price of P + R parking and public transport tickets
So, if a person has paid 20 crowns for parking and 24 crowns for a ticket to the center upon arrival in Prague, it can now be a total of 130 crowns.
From August, the highest prices will apply to the car parks in Holešovice and Ládví, one increase from the car parks in Skalka and parking spaces at the Congress Center, where people are now the only car parks to pay more, namely 90 crowns per day. According to the Technical Administration of Roads (TSK), these car parks have the best access to the center.
The second zone for 50 crowns will cover parking lots further from the center, for example in Zličín, Černý Most, Jižní Město, Letňany or Radotín. The free parking zone will apply to those car parks that are without staff, for example in Běchovice, Kotlářka or Troja (outside the regime for zoo visitors).
TSK spokeswoman Barbora Lišková justified the price increase by saying that they invest about 40 million crowns a year in the center. “We believe that commuter drivers will have expanded offers and will have an understanding for a change,” Lišková said.
So far, drivers have paid 20 crowns for all-day parking in all car parks (with the notice of the Congress Center). Drivers have to leave at night, otherwise additional fees apply. The price rose in 2011 from ten crowns.
More expensive public transport
The tariff for public transport will also change in Prague from August. The ticket will become more expensive for 30 minutes from 24 to 30 crowns and 90 minutes from 32 to 40 crowns. SMS tickets will also become more expensive, in the case of a 30-minute from 24 to 31 crowns and a 90-minute from 32 to 42 crowns.
A new tariff will be created for people in material need, who pay CZK 165 per month. The prices of monthly and annual coupons will be maintained.
