Another vaccination center without registration will be created in the shopping center in Smíchov
“It is not possible to do it anywhere, there must be a background for storing the vaccine. Hygiene must also approve it, because it is only the provision of health services,” the minister said in the Chamber of Deputies. According to him, the interest in two new centers is surprising, hundreds of people want to be vaccinated there every day. Whether they are more motivated by not having to register in advance or by drawing lots for prizes in kind, I didn’t want to speculate.
Other places for vaccination centers will be decided without registration within the next few days. But according to him, these must be places where there is a large “flow” of people, such as shopping centers or the centers of larger cities. Good transport accessibility is also needed, for example the metro in Prague.
One such place will be the Nový Smíchov na Andělu shopping center. In the evening, Vojtěch announced on Twitter that he would be in charge of the Motol hospital, it would be open from 09:00 to 20:00, with a capacity of 250 to 300 people a day. “We are planning them in other cities as well,” the minister added.
It is not yet clear whether even in the new centers there is an additional motivation for those vaccinated in the form of a prize draw. Among those vaccinated at Prague’s Chodov and the main railway station, the winners of sneakers and vouchers for the website of available computer games are selected daily, and a weekly mobile phone is lost. Vojtěch has previously stated that this aims mainly at young people, among whom there is a large proportion of the unvaccinated, and most of them have become more infected in recent days.
