PRAGUE

An old-new boss? The director of Prague Airport should be Jiří Pos, who already led him from 2011 to 2014 | Business

Sugar Mizzy July 15, 2021

Řehoř in the leadership of Prague Airport ends. The ministry declared bankruptcy in his position

The Ministry of Finance, which represents the shareholders in relation to the airport, ie the state, announced a tender for the new head of the airport in early June. It decided to do so after not extending the mandate of the current head of the airport, Václav Řehoř. He has been the head of the airport since 2014, when he joined Pos. In March, Gregory asked the ministry to extend the contract, but unsuccessfully. The Ministry stated at the time that, in connection with the dynamic development in air transport and new fans, it recommended that a tender be announced.

Pos would be one of the managers of Prague Airport since 2006, and five years later he became its chairman. He headed the airport until 2014, when he joined the board of directors of Czech Aeroholding, then the airport’s parent company.

In the tender, the commission selected from six final bidders, according to Pos, it was the most suitable candidate. According to the Ministry, in addition to the legal conditions, the Commission also assessed the applicant on the basis of the information provided by the candidates during the interviews, as well as the ability to perform the functions and the presentation of the strategic concept.

“After evaluating all these criteria, the commission evaluated Jiří Pos as the most suitable candidate, who is a long-term top manager with the relevant professional education and lifelong professional experience in the field of aviation,” said the Ministry of Finance.

In addition to the airport itself, the Prague Airport group consists of subsidiaries Czech Airlines Handling and Czech Airlines Technics.
