Vaccination without registration. The Minister promised two places in Prague within two weeks
Vojtech said that mobile vaccination teams had already been set up for these needs. Places in the Chodov shopping center and at the main railway station are now being prepared. “I would like it to start working within a maximum of two weeks,” he said.
According to the minister, the goal is to address people who have not yet registered for vaccination. “They can be people who travel somewhere, go shopping. They may not be vaccinators, but for some reason they didn’t register, maybe for some convenience. Here, without an order, without a deadline, they will go around and be able to be vaccinated directly without any reloading, “Vojtěch explained.
Decide interest in the future
It would also be vaccinated at Prague’s main railway station. To this end, the railway administration can provide premises in the lower check-in hall in its northern part (previously there was a ZOOT store). “Representatives of the Prague Hygiene, the Ministry and the Bulovka University Hospital, which will operate the vaccination center, inspected the premises,” Radka Pistoriusová, a spokeswoman for the Railway Administration, told the media. The administration will prepare the technical background of the vaccination center at the station according to the hospital’s recommendations.
In the Westfield Chodov center, according to its director Marcela Hrdličková, the vaccination center will be located in a temporarily vacant sales unit on the first floor next to the Zara store. “For now, we expect the center to run until the end of the summer. We will decide on its further continuation and possible opening of vaccination centers in the Zličín Metropolis or in the Černý Most Center, which are also part of the Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield group, according to the interests of our customers, “said Hrdličková.
This is a pilot project
In addition to two-dose safety, healthcare professionals at these vaccination sites will also have single-dose protection from Johnson & Johnson. At the beginning of June, following the opinion of vaccinologists, the ministry recommended that health professionals not administer this vaccine to people under the age of 60. The reason is a very rare unexpected effect, when the vaccinated have blood clots, especially in the brain. According to the European Medicines Agency (EMA), the incidence is estimated at 0.01 percent of those vaccinated, mostly at a younger age.
Vojtech said that vaccinating younger people with this substance is not prohibited. “I believe many people will be vaccinated with this vaccine because it is more convenient,” he said.
According to Vojtěch, vaccination places for people without registration are a pilot project. If it proves successful, the ministry wants to expand this practice to other regions. The Minister believes that interest in vaccination in larger vaccination centers will eventually run out. Larger vaccination sites are expected to end after the summer. “That’s why we are looking for some alternatives, we want to go into the field, get closer to people and make vaccinations as accessible as possible without any barriers,” Vojtěch added.
