“The fire safety systems in the area worked perfectly and the subsequent intervention of the firefighters was very fast and professional, for which we thank them again. Thanks to this, the damage is only to Hall 1 and the surrounding buildings, including the spatial musical and the concert summer stage, have remained intact, “said the head of the ABF company, Tomáš Kotrč. According to him, Hall 1 had an area of 9840 square meters.
According to Kotrč, the purchased tickets for today’s and Saturday performances of the Karlín Music Theater in the PVA EXPO Prague complex will be transferred to other dates; from next week, the summer stage program will continue according to plan. There is no risk of events or other events. Without change, they are preparing to create, for example, the permanent concert days of the Prague Kemp Letňany festival in August. The situation will not affect the upcoming fairs. “There are plenty of other capacities in the area with an area of approximately 30,000 square meters,” Kotrč added.
The smoke from the fire was visible tens of kilometers away in the morning, people in the area were not supposed to ventilate. “Chemists from the Prague fire brigade did not measure dangerous concentrations of pollutants in the air in the residential areas of Letňany,” Kavka added.
Firefighters have four levels of alarm. The third degree is the second most serious. only a special level of alarm is required, which is announced if the fire threatens, for example, more than 1000 people or the whole community.
