Prague requires a change of three bus lines. One connects Vršovice with Žižkov
In the case of line 101 (Zentiva – Skalka – Tolstého), an extension is proposed from the Tolstého (Slovinská) stops via Vinohradská vodárna / Perunova and náměstí Jiřího z Poděbrad to the area of Winston Churchill Square to the FK Viktoria Žižkov stadium. Here, passengers could change to a tram. This is a change at the request of the Prague 3 district.
“The main benefit of the new connection is to be the establishment of a public transport service in the center of Žižkov in the vicinity of Slavíkova and Kubelíkova streets,” said Ropid. According to the material, the area around the intersection of U Rajské zahrady, Slavíkova and Kubelíkova streets is still inaccessible by public transport, and a fast connection between Žižkov and Vršovice would be created. Newly purchased midibuses from Solaris could be used on the route. Line 101 is the oldest bus line in the capital. Ropid estimates the annual cost of the extension at 2.5 million crowns.
The second change concerns line 236, which runs in Bohnice along the Zámky – Podhoří route. The change of route should bring better service to the Bohnice Psychiatric Hospital. The route is newly designed by diversion in the direction from Podhoří, Zoological Garden and Krakow. Line 236 will continue through the Odra, Katovická and Řepínská areas to the Bohnice hospital, where it will stop at the main gatehouse, the interns, the headquarters, the central therapy pavilion and the Za Plotem theater.
Buses from Čestlice only on the D1
In the section Zámky – Staré Bohnice, the operation of line 236 will replace the extended connection of line 102. The team will arrive to renew the connection from Staré Bohnice to the Kobylisy metro station. In the section ZOO – Podhoří, the bus line 236 will replace all connections of the line 112, and thus the connections to the P2 ferry. On the contrary, the city part of Troja is against the plan, which does not want to lose the connection Zámky – ZOO. According to Ropid, however, the connection is marginal. The estimated costs are 2.5 million crowns per year.
The last proposed change is the strengthening of lines 122 between Opatov and Újezd. The city district of Prague-Újezd requests this. “This area is almost exclusively served only by suburban buses that run from Průhonice and Čestlice reduce congestion. Many passengers from the Kateřinky area criticize that part of the South City is served only by buses, which can be entered only through the front door, “says Ropid. According to the concept between Opatov and Újezd, line 122 was a full-fledged public transport line, Čestlice – Průhonice – Opatov persists and is accelerating and transferring to the D1 motorway. The costs are estimated at 3.8 million crowns per year.
