Prague 1 will lend the so – called Fisherman ‘s House in Kampa to the Scout Institute, councilors approved iROZHLAS
The summer house in Prague’s Kampa, nicknamed the Fisherman’s House, will be used by scouts. The loan to the Scout Institute and the preparation of the final version were approved by the councilor of Prague 1. A cultural and community center is to be established in the listed building, which will be used by scout units and residents of Prague. “The loan is currently planned for less than two years,” Miloš Říha, director of the Scout Institute, told Radiožurnál.

The fisherman’s house will be transformed into large workshops under the administration of the scouts. “We call it a project Scout Institute in Rybárna and will have the subtitle I learn by doing it. It will be a place where people meet who, for example, can do something interesting and enjoy teaching other people. A place where people can feel like you’re creating something with your own hands,“Říha told Radiožurnál.
According to Říha, the scouts would like to open the house within a few weeks of signing the contract. Already in the summer, there could be tours or an exhibition. In the future, there will also be a bistro in the summer house.
The action of councilors was previously criticized by opposition Pirates. The previous management of the city district announced a tender for the tenant of the summer house. However, the current national team canceled the competition last February, stating that none of the bids met the set conditions. According to the Pirates, quality candidates entered the unfinished competition and there was no reason to cancel it.
The house near Owl Mills got its nickname based on the fact that it used to house the Czech Fishermen’s Association. He also ran a seafood restaurant on the ground floor.
