Not only the town hall of the first city district, but also the police began investigating the case of privatization of the apartment, which was bought from Prague 1 by former Minister of Health Petr Arenberger, who is now returning to the chair of the director of the Royal Vinohrady University Hospital in Prague.
Petr Arenberger bought an apartment with an area of approximately 250 square meters more than two years ago for approximately 11.6 million crowns.
The current management of the first part of the city criticizes the purchase agreement signed by Petr Arenberger with the former mayor Pavel Čižinský (Prague 1 to himself).
However, it turns out that the contract has been changed. The councilor of Prague 1, Jan Votoček (TOP 09), stated that a passage had been deleted, which, according to him, could potentially cause damage to the city district. To explain: if, according to Votoček, Arenberger now came up with, for example, the fact that it was reconstructed before the purchase, Prague 1 would have to pay for the improvement.
The former mayor of Čižinský admitted that an official of the city district had, at his instruction, actually amended the contract. However, according to him, the situation is not as serious as the current management of the town hall claims. It is – as Čižinský wrote – a “marginality”.
“Nevertheless, the official made a regular error – apparently insignificant – in carrying out my instruction. And now the management of the town hall is trying to turn this mistake against me, “said Čižinský.
The police are also dealing with the circumstances surrounding the contract for Areneberger’s apartment. “I can confirm that we are dealing with things and saving it. This means that criminal investigators find out all the information so that they can find out whether it is a crime or not, “said Jan Daněk, a spokesman for the Prague police.
The apartment, which Arenberger bought from the first part of the city, houses his sanatorium. It solves the problems of patients with skin, and also offers cosmetic and massage services. However, the ex-minister claims that we use another apartment for living. “I must live in the apartment,” Arenberger said last week when asked by the News List.
The question of what it is like to use an apartment for living was solved as early as June 2018, when the information that a dermatologist uses the entire property as a surgery is being verified.
“A subsequent physical inspection by representatives of the Prague 1 district, who also took photo documentation of the apartment, refuted this incorrect assumption,” Arenberger said in a letter to the town hall before the apartment was privatized.
According to the pictures, there was a study, toilet or bathroom in the incriminated part of the apartment.
