Demonstrations related to the escalation of Israeli and Palestinian violence were held on Sunday in Helsinki, as in many other cities around the world.
The pro-Israel demonstration began at Paasikivi Square (Paasikivi Square) at 4 pm and was estimated to last about an hour. According to the Helsinki police, 50-100 people were present.

The solidarity march on behalf of Palestine also began at 4 pm in front of the Helsinki Lutheran Cathedral and continued at the Israeli Embassy. Police estimate that about 400 people took part in the procession.
In a tweet, the police warned of temporary traffic disruptions in the center of Helsinki and pointed out that the procession was directed from Senate Square to Simonkatu via Aleksanterinkatu and Mannerheimintie.

Police urged organizers to observe social distance.
The Finland-Syria Friendship Society also demonstrated on behalf of the Palestinians in the center of Helsinki on Sunday afternoon. According to police, about 150 people took part in the protests. One person was arrested at the beginning of the protest, but otherwise the incident proceeded smoothly at a social distance, police told the STT news agency.
