The municipal tax department of taxes, fees and duties decided to abolish the fees, after taking over the things from the subordinate administrators, which are the city districts. The aim was to unify the procedure throughout the territory of Prague. “The decision concerns only the waiver of the local fee to the extent indicated. The administration of the fee will continue to be performed by the authorities of the city districts of Prague 1 to 57, “It is written in the document. The decision does not mean that the taxpayer does not have to apply for a permit from the competent administrative authority. The measures follow on from the already approved fee waivers for the first quarter of 2021.

Hotels for regular tourists are currently closed. People can stay in them only, for example, for work reasons, those who have been ordered to work under the crisis law or isolation or quarantine. The fee in the current situation serves to enable Prague to obtain funds to cover the costs associated with tourism. The department also advised town halls to waive local charges for stays outside the hotel.

Most restaurant front gardens are in Prague 1, less than 300. For a permit, the business operator must rent an area from Prague and at the same time obtain a permit from the city district. Under normal circumstances, they both pay for the rental. In the Prague Monument Reserve, the garden must also be approved by conservationists who do not allow, for example, roofing or elevated podiums.
