Expresses between Ostrava and Prague change times. Due to major renovations
The reason for the changes on the busy railway line is the extensive repair of the line in the Orlice valley and the reconstruction of the Pardubice railway junction. In addition to long-distance connections, the changes will also affect a number of local lines.
Railway carriers have been changing the timetables of their long-distance connections between the capital and Moravia since 6 April 2021 due to major repairs and exclusions in the Pardubice Region.
For example, the pendoline between Prague and Ostrava runs at adjusted times and their driving time is extended by 15-20 minutes. Similar changes apply to other Czech Railways expressions from Prague via Olomouc to the Ostrava region.
The Valašské, Slovácké and Zlínské express trains on the route between Prague, Olomouc and Eastern Moravia have also changed since April 6.
Similarly, RegioJet passengers must also count on modified timetables on the Prague – Olomouc – Ostrava route.

Rail trips around
The modernization of the railway in the Pardubice region to the connections between Prague, Brno and Břeclav has even more significant interventions. Express trains, including railjet trains, change their route by diverting through Havlíčkův Brod, thus completely omitting the Pardubice station.
We would like to point out to ČD that, in parallel with the modifications due to closures on the corridor, the restrictions on trains in connection with the COVID-19 pandemic will continue to apply. SC Pendolino and IC trains between Prague and Ostrava, some railjets between Prague and Vienna or selected trains between Prague and Púchov or Žilina do not usually run.
Modernization for millions
Work on the modernization of the railway in eastern Bohemia will take two years.
The railway junction and also the entire railway station in Pardubice will undergo a major reconstruction for four projects. The section of the main corridor between Brandýs nad Orlicí, including the local railway station, will also be modernized.
The modernization of the line also envisages the cancellation of the Bezpráví stops. However, a new turn is being created near the station, which will increase the throughput of the line, especially in emergency measures on the line or during closures.
