AŽD Praha is preparing to deploy a steam valve for May.
After Friday’s resumption of operation of the T4 tourist line from Litoměřice to Chotiměř, AŽD Praha is preparing an unconventional surprise for the Oparenský Express route on Monday.
In addition to the set of guided locomotives 749.039 Bardotka, a not very widespread locomotive will be added on Easter Monday: Hercules 223.158.
AŽD Praha will deploy him on the morning trains from Litoměřice upper railway station, departing at 9:13 and 11:23. He will borrow it from RailTransport-Stift. He then deploys Bardotka on the afternoon trains.
“We want to prepare at least some experiences for people in these difficult times and hopefully they will enjoy it a bit,Jiří Pavlík says the head of the Railway Transport Department of AŽD. “We understand that people from other districts will probably be a little disappointed, because they will not be able to take part in the event due to government measures. But we will compensate them. If the situation allows, then on May 1 we will put a real gem on our Plum Railway, namely the steam locomotive 431 Ventilovka with historic wagons, “ added Pavlík.
On Friday, the Ústí nad Labem region resumed operations on most tourist lines, despite restrictions on the mobility of citizens. They should be open on weekends and public holidays until the end of September.
