Parking zones Prague 9: Extension to Prosek and Střížkov
Leave the purple zones to people with permanent residence in Prague 9, to people who own real estate in the city district or to entrepreneurs who have a registered office or establishment in the ninth city district, park in all marked zones for which they have purchased a parking permit. The territory of Prague 9 will be divided into two smaller units within the proposed paid parking zone. Citizens can choose whether to buy a parking permit in the entire city for 1200 crowns a year for one car, or only in one area for 600 CZK, seniors for 350 crowns.
Originally, the zones on the entire territory of Prague 9, ie even where they have not yet been valid, were to be valid from 4 January 2021. According to the earlier statement of Tomáš Holeček (ODS) because in a pandemic, there was a threat that people who wanted to obtain a parking permit could gather during office time. The commissioning of the zone was also postponed in neighboring Letňany, where the system was originally also to apply from 4 January. Finally, the paid parking zones in Prague 18 will apply from 5 April this year.
The zones first appeared in a modern form in 1996 in the part of Prague 1, where the effort to regulate traffic appeared as early as 1982. Subsequently, they were expanded and operate in Prague 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 13, 16 and 22. Some town halls have not introduced them in their entire territory, but in selected parts and are gradually expanding. The founder of the zones in Prague is the capital city of Prague, the administrator is the Technical Administration of Roads of the capital city.
