Prague will complete the Metropolitan Plan. He processes Institute of Planning and Development of the Capital of the City of Prague (IPR). It has been constantly evolving since 2018. Comments from city districts are currently being incorporated and an assessment of the impact on sustainable development is being finalized. At the same time, key negotiations are being held with ministries and municipal departments. The revised draft plan will be published at the turn of this year. It comes into force in 2023.
Comments from 56 of the 57 city districts of Prague submitted comments. The process of settling comments on the Metropolitan Plan is currently fully within the competence of the City Hall. cities. Most comments are already incorporated. The comments of the city districts played an important role, as they helped to adjust the plan in specific localities. During the negotiations, height regulation or the occupation of agricultural land were addressed. However, it was the development of new parks or public facilities.
“The new form of the Metropolitan Plan respects the opinions of citizens, associations and city districts. The aim was to go through and incorporate any other comments, which mainly concern parks, high-rise buildings and courtyards. Thanks to them, Prague will have a zoning plan that will move it into further development, “he says Ondřej Boháč, Director of IPR.
At the turn of the year, the revised plan will be published and then another round of comments will take place. Again, the plan will have the opportunity to be reminded in some way by the general public. The metropolitan plan will come into force in 2023.
“At the moment, we are finalizing the incorporation of all the comments that came to the Metropolitan Plan. For example, requirements, which were submitted from the Ministry of Culture and the National Monuments Institute, respects the already modified plan. Thanks to continuous work, we are preparing a new zoning plan to better meet the needs of the current metropolis and its citizens, ” he says Petr Hlaváček, First Deputy Mayor.
