The Tatras are again to have a direct air connection with Prague, the long head of the Poprad airport
The direct line between Prague and Poprad ended in 2012.
Nine years after the termination of direct flights of Czech Airlines, flights between Prague and Poprad are to be resumed. He is planning the head of Poprad’s airport, Peter Dujava, according to which a contract of operation has already been signed. However, Prague Airport does not yet know about such routes.
Dujava stated the plan for a new journey in an interview for the Slovak portal OurDoprava.sk. “We are eminently interested in the fact that the connection Poprad – Prague works. We have signed this connection with the air carrier, but of course everything applies to how the covid situation develops,“Dujava said.”
The direct connection between Prague and Poprad ended in 2012, and no one has renewed it since. In the case of the connection between the Czech Republic and the Tatras, there was a great expansion of the railway connection, the construction of new motorways in Slovakia also led to a partial acceleration of road travel.
Prague Airport does not yet know about plans for a new connection to the Tatras. “As part of the development of new air connections from Prague, we are negotiating with various airlines for regular flights to non-serviced destinations. At the moment, we cannot confirm a new direct route between Prague and Slovak Poprad. The final decision on the launch of these routes is always made by the airline,“ said Prague Airport spokeswoman Kateřina Pavlíková.
