The average salary in the Czech Republic is 36,000 crowns. The manager takes the most, the porter the least
The latest analysis of the Platy.cz salary portal analyzed in detail how people in various fields and regions take the salary. The results show that the median of all wages and salaries in the Czech Republic in 2020 was CZK 36,503 gross. Such is the statistics. In practice, however, this means that half of people pay less than indicated. As many as 50 percent of people in our country earn just over CZK 29,000 in net, ie if they do not receive child allowances and claim a non-taxable part of the base.

The analysis also showed that a tenth of people in the Czech Republic receive a gross salary of less than CZK 21,066. They therefore have to come up with a net income of less than CZK 17,900 per month. In most regions, 10 percent of the gross monthly income is even under 20,000 crowns.
The agglomerations are catching up with Prague
Prague differs from other differences in the republic mainly at the highest level, but in some cases it only changes. “For years, the wage level in Prague has been well above other regions. In recent years, however, some other large agglomerations have begun to catch up – and I know that many multinational companies, which generally have higher salaries, still remain in Prague,” they said. analytical portal Platy.cz.
What is the median wage
The average value of wages divides employees into two equally large parts with lower and higher wages. It is always lower than the average wage.
The median wage in the capital reaches CZK 42,989. One tenth of the highest paid employees earn CZK 72,801 here, but 10 percent of people have an average gross salary of CZK 24,809. “Most employees, 21, fall into the wage band between 42 and 46 thousand crowns, the same 12 percent of people fall into the neighboring wage bands, so they earn 38 to 42 thousand or 42 to 46 thousand crowns,” said analysts from the Platy portal. cz
In the other three regions, gross wages (median) are around CZK 35,000 – in the South Moravian Region (CZK 35,213), in the Plzeň Region (CZK 35,124) and in the Central Bohemian Region (CZK 34,807).
At the opposite pole of the salary scale are the Karlovy Vary Region (CZK 29,594) and the Olomouc Region (CZK 29,996).
Another hard blow: up to a third of single people do not receive alimony
The biggest difference between Prague and the rest of the country is in the highest salary category. While in Prague they earn the best payments on average over 70 thousand crowns per month, in other regions they fall within the range of 50-60 thousand crowns gross. The Karlovy Vary and Olomouc regions are again on the tail (with a limit of around 50,000).
If we compare the people with the lowest earnings, in most regions they earn 10% of the worst paid under 20 thousand crowns gross per month. Apart from Prague, they are above this limit only in the South Moravian (CZK 20,322), Plzeň (CZK 20,270) and Central Bohemia (CZK 20,087) regions.

The analysis of the Platy.cz portal also showed which positions were the most lucrative in 2020 and which are the worst paid: On the other hand, the top managers are at the top of the list, with CEOs earning the best average salary in excess of 160,000 crowns.
