Prague is shining. How when and how where
To do this, they used a phone call, e-mail correspondence and, increasingly, the Prague Lights mobile application, which can be downloaded from the Internet. “Most people report unlit or flashing lights, there were a total of 14,837 cases,” said THMP chairman Tomáš Jílek.
Sometimes part of the street is not lit (2,633 reports), or even the whole street (1,236). “The highest priority is given to faults that could result in electric shock. In such a situation, we are obliged to arrive at the place within thirty minutes, “he added.
The Prague Councilor for Property Jan Chabr (United Forces for Prague / TOP 09) stated in a press release that the system for identifying faults in public lighting should be automated in the future and the share of initial reports from citizens should be gradually reduced.
“Already this year, we are gradually equipping individual lighting fixtures with remote control and diagnostics so that the operating system can see the conditions of public lighting directly from the control room and can also control it. In the future, we will see not only the entire street, but also individual masts, lighting and other technologies, “explained Chabr. According to the councilor, the first two hundred control units are already working and Prague plans to complete the entire network this year.
The municipality also mentioned that the mobile application reported that harassment can also report harassment by so-called disturbing light, ie the suspicion that the lamp shines in violation of the standard into the apartment or shines too much. In this case, too, the city company will immediately check the report and, if necessary, take corrective action.
