The Ministry of Transport and Czech Railways are preparing new direct trains from Prague to the Polish Baltic
Czech Railways expects a new connection from December next year.
New direct trains could run between Prague and Gdynia, Poland. The Czech and Polish Ministries of Transport are negotiating their introduction in the Prague – Wrocław section, and at the same time Czech Railways has announced a plan to start operations on this route.
Already last February, this plan was announced by the Minister of Transport Karel Havlíček, Czech Railways has already confirmed that it plans to start operations at the end of 2022.Negotiations with the Polish side are underway on the possibilities of leadership in the Prague-Wroclaw route. Due to the fact that the current transport infrastructure brings the introduction of competitive trains through Hradec Králové and Náchod, it is their management in the route Prague – Pardubice – Lichkov – Wroclaw, “Said František Jemelka, a spokesman for the Ministry of Transport. Czech Railways probably expects to operate earlier and in cooperation with its Polish partner all the way to the Baltic to Gdynia. In response to the planned management of the Siemens Vectron locomotive, they stated that they would take over 7 machines by the end of October 2022 and would be deployed on the new line Prague – Lichkov – Wroclaw – Gdynia. “This is a planned project with a Polish partner.
